The Academy Award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty will now step into the shoes of a director for the first time with the film ‘Otta’. The film will feature talented actors Asif Ali and Arjun Ashokan in the lead roles.
The film is bankrolled by Children Reunited LLP and Resul Pookutty’s own production house. In 2019, Resul had starred in a full-length Malayalam project titled The Sound Story, which had him play a sound engineer recording the Thrissur Pooram for the benefit of the visually impaired.
Resul Pookutty has line up international talents for his film that will star Asif Ali, Arjun Ashokan, Sathyaraj, Shobhana, Rohini, Indrans, Adil Hussain, Divya Dutta and Jaffar Idukki. The shooting of ‘Otta’ will commence on April 25.

M Jayachandran will compose the music for the lyrics penned by Rafeeq Ahmad. Along with Devi Nair, the daughter of former Malayalam heroine Jalaja, Resul Pookutty’s brother Baiju Pookutty also will play a notable role.
