RUSA: Cabinet approves continuation

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has given approval for the continuation of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). The centrally sponsored scheme will thus continue to be offered from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2020. During this phase, the scholarship is expected creating 70 new model degree colleges and eight new professional colleges. The scheme would continue providing infrastructural support to as much as 50 Universities and 750 Colleges.

According to the available reports, the scheme would have a total of INR 9,604 Cr in its kitty.
