According to latest reports, actor-producer Vijay Babu has fled to Georgia from UAE amid state police decision to deport him back to India. Earlier, the state police moved ahead and impounded his passport with the help of the external affairs ministry.
It is to be noted that India does not have an agreement with Georgia that demands the extradition of criminals between the two countries.
The sexual assault accused actor had earlier hinted of appearing before the state police. However, his passport was impounded after the Kochi City police moved an application to the external affairs ministry.
Vijay Babu has also been charged for disclosing the survivor’s identity, which is an offence, in a live session in the social media.
