MP Shashi Tharoor expressed his interest in contesting the state assembly elections. Tharoor announced this while talking to the media after visiting the Devaloka Aramana, the headquarters of the Orthodox Church.
Tharoor added that there is no caste in his mind or actions and he respects the advice of Catholic Bava, the Supreme President of the Orthodox Church Basilios Marthomma Mathews III, to be active in Kerala. Tharoor said that he will be active in Kerala from now on.
Tharoor said that he would not respond to the statement that he is a tribal Nair and should ask those who said it, saying that the allegation that he is doing caste activities is baseless.
Caste and religion are private, talent is not important, Tharoor said that he does not even know the caste of the cook in his house. He added that there does not appear to be any connection between the NSS registrar’s resignation and his visit.
