Navratri celebrations ended yesterday. These are the days when Hindi stars show the most devotion and faith. Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is also not behind when it comes to practicing Hindu rituals. This time also they had a big celebration. Her husband Raj Kundra was also a part of the celebrations.

Now a pooja performed by them at their house has become a big controversy. They have performed Kanyaka Puja. A common belief among Hindus is that doing Kanyaka Puja during Navratri is very auspicious. Some people believe that in this way the puja will have 12 times the success. They perform this type of pooja by dressing girls under the age of 9 in new clothes and adorning them with ornaments and imagining them as goddesses.

Every day during Navratri, the virgins are imagined as different aspects of the Goddess. It is said that the puja should be performed like this. That means 9 girls need to be found for Kanyaka Pooja. It is said that even in some temples this pooja is performed during Navratri. It is believed that girls participating in the puja who take on the concept of Devi will have success in education and future marital success. It is generally said that doing this pooja is good for removing the evils of the previous birth and getting rid of the curse of virginity and female curse. As part of this pooja, Shilpa Shetty and her family prepared a feast for a few selected girls.

Shilpa Shetty and her husband gave gifts to the girls. Then they touched the children’s feet and got blessings. They seated the girls who came as guests along with their daughter Samiksha and gave them a feast. Shilpa Shetty herself served food to the children. At the same time, this video of theirs is now becoming a topic of discussion in a big way. Many people are coming to appreciate them, but a small section of people are coming forward with criticism. A section of people say that children should be blessed by touching their feet and not by touching their knees, but since it is the 21st century, the secular democracy believers are asking Hindus to end such superstitions and customs.
