In an attempt to position their presence amongst the customer base, Snapchat has made its intentions clear. While issuing a blog post, the Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel mentioned about the possible changes, which the application might undergo in the near future. Briefing out the plans, the blog post made it clear that the company would redesign the app, by separating the media and the social communications.
The movement according to Spiegel, is to counter the fake news and mindless scrambles. The statement clearly indicates the intended recipients of Spiegel – Facebook and Twitter. The ‘Discover’ page, visible on the right side would display publisher stories and the ones from round the world; the stories from ‘Friends’, on the other hand, would be displayed on the left side. It must be added that, Facebook has recently copied an exclusive Snapchat feature – Streaks.
