Sony is reportedly working behind the idea of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered taxi hailing service. The AI service, as was reported by Nikkei, would be able to calculate a number of features. The algorithm of Sony would be able to forecast traffic, weather and would be able to predict when one needs a ride. That said, Sony might go for a limited launch of the service – within Japan.
In the Japanese market, which has banned private ridesharing car service, Sony is surely going to make waves. The self driving cars really going to make its presence felt in Japanese market in big time in the near future. The AI service of Sony, however will face a stiff competition from JapanTaxi, which got a huge $70M investment from Toyota.
