Sony has announced that two of its smartphones – Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus – will now start receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update in batches. Both the devices, launched in India back in October, were running on Android 7.1 Nougat. Announcing the arrival of Oreo into the devices, Sony commented that users of Xperia R1 and R1 Plus would receive a number of features. The update can be availed manually by accessing the ‘System Updates’ at the ‘About Phone’ sub option, present at the ‘Settings’.
Android 8.0 Oreo brings some exciting features, including that of ‘Picture in Picture Mode’.
