Kerala State Budget session saw state education sector being given some notable announcements. The most important one amongst them was that of plans of launching a satellite by students in corporation with ISRO. The initial phase of the work would soon commence this year. Another important decision to boost students’ performance in academics is awarding an endowment of INR 10,000 yearly to students in Govt. Colleges across the State.
Plans of establishing new Arts and Science Colleges in the State and spending INR 789 Cr for higher education sector are the two other major announcements made out during the State Budget session.
