Bala is a well-known actor to Malayalams. Now here is Bala talking about his coming to Malayalam through India Glitz Tamil channel. The actor’s words are this, after doing some movies in Tamil, he got an opportunity to do the movie Kalabham from Malayalam. I thought the film would be a huge hit. But the expected success was not achieved. When I was about to come back to Tamil again, I got a chance to do Big B with Mammootty. It became a super hit, and then it was a bit difficult to leave Malayalam and go back to Tamil. After that, Puthiyamugam was the movie in which he acted as a villain. Prithviraj’s role as a villain became a hit. He got many different roles in Malayalam. Kerala accepted me as a Malayali.” Bala said. When he came to act in Bala’s first film, Kalabhat, he did not know Malayalam at all. In the beginning, Bala had linguistic difficulties. Everyone interacted with Bala on the sets of the film like Thalayalam, a mix of Tamil and Malayalam.

Bala thought that the spoken language was proper Malayalam. Later, Bala said, he started talking to everyone in Thalayalam. After Kalabha there was no looking back and did many films. Bala has also excelled in villain, brother and character roles alongside superstars. No Malayalee will ever forget the Murus of Big B. Bala tells about an incident in Big B with Mammootty. He is shooting the scene where his brother died in Big B. Me, Mammootty, Manoj K Jayan and Mamta Mohandas are in the scene. I sit and cry in that scene, like I usually cry in such a scene in Tamil. Suddenly Mammootty slapped me and stared at me. It was only when he did not understand why he was hit that he realized that he acted in that scene. The look meant that men shouldn’t cry. It was only when I saw that scene in the theater that I realized its beauty.”
