Thiruvananthapuram: The price of 13 subsidized items distributed by Supplyco will be increased.
Following the demand of Supplyco, the LDF meeting held on Friday discussed the matter and approved the price hike.
At the same time, no decision has been taken on how much to increase the price. The meeting also tasked the Food Minister to take a decision in this regard.

The prices of pulses, broad beans, chickpeas, chickpeas, peanuts, chillies, sugar, paddy rice, Kurua rice, Jaya rice, Pachari malli and coconut oil are increasing.
Supplying essential commodities with subsidy incurs a liability of over Rs 500 crore and the government should either pay this or increase the price of essential commodities periodically, Supplico demanded.
Supplyco had informed the Food Minister in writing about this. The LDF meeting held today discussed the matter because the price hike was a policy decision.
