Tata Nexon AMT was all set to be launched by the months of March – April. However, industry insiders suggest that, the AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) of Nexon compact SUV might not be hitting the market by the time. That said, the launch of the SUV is been further pushed by Tata – by the mid of May. Already appearing at the Auto Expo 2018, the Tata Nexon AMT would be featuring a six speed gearbox and appearing in both petrol and diesel variants.
Reports suggest that there won’t be any change to the engines of the Nexon AMT SUV. The 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol powertrain – 1198cc three cylinder engine, would develop a power of 108.5bhp at 5,000rpm; peak torque figure being 170Nm. On the other hand, the 1.5 liter naturally aspirated diesel mill – 496cc four cylinder engine, would produce a power of 108.5bhp; the peak torque figure being 260Nm at 1500 – 2750rpm.
