In the last ten years, many anti-Muslim films have been released in India. Movies including Kerala Story will be included in this. But the North Indian audience is giving huge support to such films. Only Kerala and Tamil Nadu, two states that uphold secularism and democratic values, have come forward against such films. The Bengal government has often come out against such films but we have also seen the majority of people in Bengal supporting such films.
Meanwhile, another anti-Muslim movie is about to be released. The Supreme Court had stayed the film, finding that the film insulted Islamic religious beliefs and married Muslim women. The movie is called Hamare Baraik. Now the Bombay High Court has given permission for the film to release on Friday itself.
A dialogue from the film has been removed for this. Similarly, the court has suggested to remove the Qur’anic verse as well. June 14 was the first release date of this movie. But later the release of the film was delayed.
The teaser of the film was a major cause of criticism. The judges asked how much the movie would be if the teaser itself was so offensive. Meanwhile, the Karnataka government had earlier blocked the release and telecast of the film. Various Muslim organizations had come forward questioning the release of the film. Meanwhile, the film has now received a clean chit. The film is expected to hit the theaters soon.
