Sivagiri Mathadhipati Satchidananda Swami wants to demolish the standard of Shantikars being Brahmins in major temples. He was speaking while inaugurating the 91st Sivagiri Pilgrimage
In major temples like Guruvayur and Sabarimala, the standard is that Shantikars should be Brahmins. It should be demolished. Satchidananda Swamy also said that he hopes to break the monopoly of the upper class.
Satchidananda Swamy also spoke praising Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who spoke on the stage. The response of Srinarana Dharma Sangam Trust President Satchidananda Swami was that Pinarayi is our own Chief Minister.
Satchidananda Swami praised the appointment of backward people as priests in temples as a revolutionary move.
Satchidananda Swami also demanded that at least three hymns of the Guru’s Deity Decade should be recognized as the official anthem of Kerala. Apart from the Chief Minister, Minister VN Vasavan and ISRO Chairman S Swaminathan also participated in the event.
