A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra filed a complaint against her husband and his family for forcing, torturing and harassing her to have physical relations with her mother. The police have registered a case in the incident. According to the FIR, the woman married Alok Upadhyay in Gazipur district in 2022. The harassment started soon after the marriage.
The woman alleges that her husband’s mother put pressure on her. When she refused, her mother-in-law attacked her with a blade, causing five cuts on her hand that required stitches. The report says that after locking her in the room, her husband’s sister forced her to wear the same clothes for a month and seized her clothes. The woman also claims that she was constantly physically harassed for demanding dowry.
