Eugene Merrill Deutsch, 95, director of Tom and Jerry’s and Popeye Animation films, has left the world. The family has confirmed that the man died at his apartment in Prague on Thursday night
Jean has directed 13 films in the Tom and Jerry film series and a few in the Popeye the Sailor series.
He was born in 1924 in Chicago. He served as a pilot in the Air Force. Then came the animation and illustration. He won an Oscar for his animated short film, Monroe.
