TRAI Chariman RS Rahul Sharma has asked the Government of India to implement the National Digital Communication Policy (NDCP), which was approved by the Cabinet in the year 2018. He While speaking at the meeting of the Telecom Companies’ Organization COAI that he spoke of spoke about the importance of the new telecom policy.
Stating that no one had raised any dispute over the terms of the policy, TRAI Chairman said that the NDCP has been instrumental in strengthening the telecom sector, which plays an important role during the Covid-19 crisis. Stressing the need of implementing the policy, TRAI Chairman said that this would eliminate the economic pressure on the telecom sector. The National Digital Communications Policy has included various measures to help the telecom sector financially.
The TRAI chairman also praised the telecom sector for its commendable service during the Covid-19 era. He said the telecom sector was instrumental in keeping everyone connected during the lockdown period thereby providing a seamless network for work and recreation.
