UN Report suggests the presence of large number of Indian IS agents from Karnataka and Kerala

A report from the United Nations on the global terror threat suggested large number of active terrorists from South India, especially Kerala and Karnataka. The report states that Indian Subcontinent is the base for close to 200 members, who are part of Islamic State (ISIS) and al-Qaida. While there are several active personals from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Myanmar, and the rest of the parts of India, it is Kerala and Karnataka that have contributed most number of active personals to these organizations.

As can be seen in the report, the AQIS is planning to attack the region. However, the state imposed restrictions to movements on the wake of the Covid-19, put limited the terror activities of ISIS and al-Qaida. The report further maintained that restrictions on international travel have had a significant impact on the mobility of terrorist organizations.
