Sania Mirza, a native of Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, became the first Muslim woman fighter pilot of the Indian Air Force. Sania Mirza cleared the National Defense Academy’s fighter pilot test. Sania will take admission in the National Defense Academy in Pune on December 27.
The exam was held in 2022 for 400 seats in the National Defense Academy. 19 of them are women. Two of these seats are reserved for women fighter pilots. Sania won one of these.
Sania’s father is Shahid Ali, a television mechanic. Sania said that she failed in the first attempt and got the seat in the second attempt. Sania said that studying in Hindi medium school is a big achievement for her. Sania was also the district-level top scorer in the UP Class 12th examination. Sania says her role model is Avni Chaturvedi, the country’s first female fighter pilot. Sania added that she wanted to be like them from the beginning.
