Giving positive signs to the industry, a mega budget project has been announced by Aashiq Abu and Prithviraj. The project, titled ‘Vaariyamkunnan’ will be set against the backdrops of Malabar Revolution. A periodic movie, the movie roams around the life of Chakkiparamban Variyankunnathu Kunjahammed Haji, the hero of the 1921 rebellion against the British.
All set to begin shooting from 2021 onwards, Prithviraj’s announcement of the project through social media spaces, has given the much needed hope for the industry, which is reeling under tremendous pressure, and is yet to have a clear plan, post – Covid. Under the banners of ‘Compass Movies Ltd’ and ‘OPM Cinemas’, the movie would be a joint directorial venture between Aashiq Abu and Muhsin Perari, with Shyju Khalid wielding the camera.
