WhatsApp is planning to introduce many new features in the beginning of 2023. The features introduced for testing at the end of last year will also reach the users this year.
It is reported that picture in picture video call, view one text, voice status and report status feature may arrive on iOS this year.
Picture in picture video call
This feature allows you to get a picture-in-picture view in the main window even if you close WhatsApp during a video call. With the new feature, users will be able to use other apps even if they are in a video call on WhatsApp.
The company had introduced picture-in-picture mode on WhatsApp video calls for iPhone users late last year. Only a few iOS beta testers get this feature. There are reports that the picture-in-picture mode on WhatsApp video calls will be available for all iOS users this year.
This feature is already available for Android users. Meanwhile, WhatsApp has already added the facility for Android-iOS users to play video files in picture-in-picture mode.
View one’s text
It is currently possible to send images and videos using the ‘View Ones’ features. WhatsApp is planning to bring this to text messages as well. The special feature of ‘view once’ feature is that it can be viewed only once. The information is that WhatsApp is working on a new update and the feature will be available soon.
The View One’s Text feature also has some other features. Reports state that these messages cannot be screenshotted, forwarded or copied. WhatsApp has not made an official announcement that the ‘View Ones Text’ feature will come, but it is expected to arrive this year.
Voice Status
Status on WhatsApp is a feature known as Stories on Instagram and others. Currently, WhatsApp allows sharing of images, videos and text. However, it is reported that now WhatsApp will also allow sharing audio clips through WhatsApp status.
Through voice note status or voice status people can record voice and share in status. This feature will be similar to sending voice while chatting.
Voice status will also get the same privacy as normal status update. Who can see your status updates and can hear the voice statuses you share. This can be changed if needed.
Report status feature
WhatsApp has been at the forefront of taking action against those who violate its policy. User has option to report against fake messages.
It is reported that the company is also preparing an opportunity to report WhatsApp status from this year. WhatsApp is said to be working on a new feature.
With the help of the new feature, anyone in the user’s contacts who share an obscene video, content that does not follow WhatsApp policy or an update that harms others through status can be reported. The information is that WhatsApp is testing this feature on the desktop version. This feature may come in near future updates.
Also, WhatsApp is providing an opportunity to use one account on two devices. This way, one account can be used on both iOS and Android.
