BJP national vice president A.P. Vigilance raid on Abdullakutty’s house. The raid is being carried out at Abdullakutty’s house at Pallikunnu in Kannur. The raid was in a corruption case related to the organization of light and sound show in Kannur fort. The investigation is looking for details of this.
It is alleged that more than Rs 1 crore was spent from the state exchequer and money was wasted. The raid was led by DySP Babu Peringoth. The project was implemented in 2016 when he was the Kannur MLA. The big project was conceived in collaboration with DTPC as part of the renovation of the fort.
The project was rushed ahead of the UDF government’s resignation days ago. A sum of Rs 1 crore was spent for the purchase of equipment for the project. But in 2018, there was nothing but a one-day light and sound show at Kannur Fort. The complaint alleges massive financial fraud in this item.
In the last few days, a vigilance check was conducted at Kannur DTPC and a file was seized in this connection. The raid was a continuation of that.
