Srinivasan is a prominent presence in Malayalam cinema. Like Srinivasan, his sons Vineeth and Dhyan have found their own place in Malayalam cinema today. Vineeth and Dhyan have often said that they got into cinema without any help from their father. Once Srinivasan himself has opened up about this. In an interview given by Manorama Online, Srinivasan said some things. Srinivasan says that he used to tell his children about his film experiences from the past and they grew up watching filmmakers. The actor tells an interesting incident when Vineeth told him that acting was not good for him.

‘I used to tell my children about my film experiences. Not only in movies. Many of the experiences we have gone through in life are told when given the context. It is somewhat intentional. They were born and brought up in a somewhat sterile environment. But that was not my case. Only if I tell them, they will understand that such things exist in the world. They say those things because they know it,’

‘I have taken my children to the set for only one film. It was not taken either. On the way home, I entered the set. I don’t remember the name of that movie. I still remember asking Vineeth a question that day. He was seven years old then. After doing a shot I asked him how my performance was. The answer was that it was very bad. I am glad that he had the sense to say that, ‘I am a person who believes that fathers and mothers should not impose their wishes on their children. After a certain age they feel what they should be. If we don’t do what we love, we will end up hating this life itself. They should not have such a situation. I never tried to bring them into the film. I am in the cinema when they are born,’
