On the other hand, after the remand of Rahul Mangkoothil, Youth Congress leaders have announced that they have called for strong protest programs. The leaders said that they have decided to organize a protest program called ‘Samarajwala’. Rahul was arrested in connection with the violence that took place during the Secretariat March, where the police and the Chief Minister’s bodyguards were alleging that the protests against the Navakerala Sadas were being suppressed. The Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police arrested Rahul from his house in Atur, Pathanamthitta.
The strike by Youth Congress workers resulted in widespread violence. Activists pelted stones at the police. In the case, Rahul has been charged with the charges of unauthorized strike, destruction of public property and obstructing the proper execution. Opposition leader VD Satheesan is the first accused in the case. MLAs Shafi Parambil and M Vincent are the second and third accused in the case. Rahul is the fourth accused in the gang.
