There is a huge controversy in Malayalam cinema after the release of the Hema Committee report. Siddique, who was the general secretary, resigned first. There were serious allegations against him from many quarters after the release of the report. There were allegations against him including POCSO. He resigned in the background of all this. Then serious complaints were raised against Baburaj who was an executive member.

Following this, the Amma Executive Committee submitted its collective resignation. Saree now says that there was a difference of opinion on this issue. They are now saying that not everyone has resigned from the governing body. They revealed this to the media.

“The decision to resign was not unanimous. I have not surrendered my country yet. Such a stand has been taken even in Amma Yog. There were differences of opinion regarding submission of collective resignation. Some people stick to it. It was not a press conference to be addressed by the mother alone. It was a press conference that was to be addressed by Amma as well as film industry workers. This was the same opinion shared in the executive committee” – says Sarayu.

“Mohanlal, who was our president, is not interested in such uproar and interference. He is a person who likes to work in his quiet space. Maybe that’s why he came to such a decision. He has not said anything that he will not cooperate with us from tomorrow. He has extended all possible support. General Secretary Siddique said that he welcomes the report. I am also personally welcome. I believe that if there are allegations, they should be proved” – Sarayu adds.
