WhatsApp will now have to face the lawsuit filed by a fellow advocate, Gurmeet Singh, for spreading obscene content. The ‘Middle Finger’ emoji showcased by WhatsApp seems to have irked a section, including Gurmeet Singh. While condemning the ‘middle finger’ emoji in WhatsApp, the lawyer pointed out that it was a highly belligerent and invasive gesture. He further added that as per Indina Penal Code Sections 354 and 509, such gestures are offensive in nature and should be condemned.
The legal notice sent by him suggested that WhatsApp should remove the emoji within 15 days of receiving the notice.
