UDF has called for a hartal in Wayanad tomorrow following the death of Paul (50) who was injured in a wild cat attack in Wayanad Kurua.
After UDF called for hartal, LDF also called for hartal tomorrow in Wayanad. LDF has called for a hartal, demanding that a permanent solution to the wild animal nuisance be found and that the central and state governments should intervene urgently in the context of the killing of 3 people in the span of 17 days in wild animal attacks.
The hartal will be from 6 am to 6 pm tomorrow. Meanwhile, in Wayanad this year alone, three lives have been lost in wild boar attacks.
On January 30, Lakshmanan, a resident of Tholpetti, was killed in a katana attack. On February 10, Ajeesh Katana, a native of Mananthavadi Padamala, was killed in an attack.

Belur Makhna, who attacked Ajeesh, has not been caught yet. Meanwhile, another tragic incident occurred in which one more person was killed in a wild cat attack.
According to preliminary reports, the cause of Paul's death was internal injuries sustained in the katana attack. Atheeva brought Paul to Kozhikode Medical College in critical condition.
Paul was rushed to Kozhikode Medical College within two hours from Mananthavadi, but his life could not be saved. Paul's autopsy will be conducted tomorrow. Pulpally police will arrive around 7.30 am for inquest proceedings.
Paul was seriously injured in an attack by a wild elephant at 9 o'clock this morning. Paul, an employee of the Kurua Island Forest Protection Committee (VSS), was on his way to work when he was in front of a herd of elephants.
Paul said that when he got scared, he fell down and was kicked by the wild boar that came after him. Colleagues who came to know about the incident took Paul to Mananthavadi Medical College Hospital. Later, after Paul's health deteriorated, he was shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
