The Producers’ Association has issued a statement that no Malayalam film should start shooting till an otherwise decision is taken by the Association; soon then, several voices came opposing the decision. However, Mahesh Narayanan is all set to start shooting the project ‘See You Soon’. The project, which has Fahadh Faasil essaying the central role, will be shot in iPhone. Said to have a running time of 1.5 hours, ‘See You Soon’, however is not termed as a commercial entertainer; rather it would be a documentary.
The director – actor combo’s highly anticipated movie ‘Malik’ is waiting to hit big screens. Once the Covid hurdles got cleared, the big budget project will hit big screens. The decision taken by Producers’ Association President M. Ranjith is in line with the collective decision taken by the Association to reduce the cost of filming. With more than 66 Malayalam films struggling to hit big screens due to Covid issues, earlier Producers’ Association had asked technicians and film stars to reduce the remuneration by 50 per cent.
