Jio Baby is a director who speaks strong politics through his films. Kathal was the director’s new film that conveys progressive ideas through cinema.
The film with Mammootty in the lead role was also a progressive concept. Now Jio Baby’s words about society, family and women are getting attention.
Director Jio Baby says that there are many problems in the family which is the most important part of the society. Jio Baby says women are not happy there. Jio Baby said this in an interview to PTI.
Family is the most important unit of society. There are many problems with it. Women are not happy there. That’s why I always think about community and family.

I want it to be the best of both. Women’s perspectives matter at all levels and everywhere. But Jio Baby says that decision making is mostly done by men.
My community affects me on many levels. That is why I am exploring it more,” he added.
Jio Baby also opened up about being a feminist. I learned a lot from Great Indian Kitchen. I believe my parents raised me well.
But becoming a feminist was a slow process. It continued even after Great Indian Kitchen. When I was in high school, my mom and dad made me wash the dishes.

Then I realized how painful it was. Then I thought, why is it only women’s responsibility?
But the real change happened after my marriage. My wife was studying at that time. So I had to get more involved in the kitchen.
I started reading books written by women. She also started following feminist writers on Facebook. And so I became a feminist. Jio Baby said that is my experience.
