Xiaomi to launch smartphone with 150 MP camera this year: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is working on releasing a phone later this year. Reports say that the smartphone, which is not available in much detail, is likely to be a phone that takes mobile photography to another level. The smartphone is expected to be launched with a 150-megapixel sensor.
The company plans to launch its new smartphone in the last quarter of this year. The company has released some information about the upcoming camera and camera sensor. Earlier, the company took very little time to get from the 64MP sensor to the 108MP smartphone. Therefore, the 150 mpg sensor is being introduced this year.
Xiaomi is reportedly working with electronics giant Samsung to launch a smartphone with a 150-megapixel camera. This is not the first time that two smartphone manufacturers have worked together on camera. Xiaomi and Samsung worked together to launch the first smartphone with a 108-megapixel camera sensor some time ago.
There are some reports that Samsung has completed the research work to develop the 150 megapixel sensor. Samsung is developing a sensor that is “about 1 inch” in size. Samsung is developing this sensor using nano-cell technology similar to that found in Isole Bright HM1.
The 150-megapixel sensor developed by Samsung will be used by Xiaomi in its yet-to-be-announced smartphone, which will be released later this year. South Korean electronics maker Samsung has also begun developing plans to develop a 250-megapixel camera sensor.
According to the report, the company will also offer a superpixel feature that combines nine pixels into the upcoming smartphone’s camera. That means a 150-megapixel camera sensor can shoot 16-megapixel pixel-binned images. Other smartphone manufacturers, including Oppo and Vivo, are also reportedly working on a smartphone with a 150-megapixel camera sensor.
