Yashwant Sinha is an Indian civil servant and politician. He was the Minister of Finance under the Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar (from 1990 until 1991) and under the Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee (from March 1998 to July 2002 ). He was also the Minister of External Affairs from July 2002 to May 2004. In June 2022, the opposition parties in India unanimously selected him as their candidate for the 2022 presidential election.
