A youth, reportedly a drug addict, stabbed his parents in Kozhikode on Sunday.
The couple Shaji and Biji are undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Their son Shine was taken into police custody after firing gunshots twice in a bid to subdue him. The incident took place on Sunday night at Eranjipalam in Kozhikode.
According to the police, Shine got into an argument with his father and then used a knife to stab him in the chest and neck, injuring him. Meanwhile, the mother was also stabbed by the son.
Shaji has suffered grave injuries and is reportedly critical. After the attack, the police arrived, however, Shine remained violent. The police tried to persuade the youth but failed. After that, the accused was subdued by two gun shots in the air. He was then taken to the police station.
