Thiruvananthapuram: Record liquor sales in the state on New Year’s Eve. Liquor worth Rs 94.54 crore was sold through the Beverages Corporation alone.
Compared to this day last year, there was an additional sale of Rs. Bevco’s Thiruvananthapuram Powerhouse outlet sold the highest amount of liquor.
1.02 crore worth of sales were made here alone. At Ernakulam Ravipuram outlet, liquor sales were worth Rs 77 lakhs and at Iringalakuda Rs 76 lakhs.
From December 22 to 31, liquor worth Rs 543.13 crore was sold through Bevco. During the same period last year, Bevco sold liquor worth Rs 516.26 crore.
This time there was an additional sale of 27 crores over last year. At the same time, record sales of liquor took place this Christmas in the state.
A total of 230.47 crores worth of liquor was sold in the state including warehouse sales in three days. Last year, liquor worth Rs 210.35 crore was sold on these days.
This time liquor worth 154.77 crores was sold through Bevco outlet alone. 70.73 crore worth of liquor was sold through the outlet alone on Sunday, the eve of Christmas. Last year, liquor worth 69.55 crore was sold on Christmas Eve.
