UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has given nod to a new feature, wherein users can now link their phone number with AADHAAR, without stepping out from the home. As per the new system, customer can either use apps or, IVRS, for linking both these numbers. Customers will receive an OTP (One Time Password), while following the procedures, using which one can complete the process.
The new method, which will come into effect from December 1 onward, is aimed at including marginalized sections of the society, like disabled, chronically ill people as well as senior citizen. Announcing the same, UIDAI officials however maintained that people can still avail the existing methods of linking AADHAAR with mobile number.
