Actor Pearl V Puri has been arrested in connection with the rape of a minor girl. The 31-year-old actor, who was spotted on the Nagin serial, has been arrested by the Mumbai police, news agency ANI reported. The police action against Pearl Puri was based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s father. A case has been registered against Ilk under the Poxo Act. The actor is currently in police custody. Police said the abused girl visited the shooting set with her mother, who worked with Pearl Puri.
Meanwhile, television colleagues and others came to the scene claiming that the actor was innocent. Leading producer Ekta Kapoor and others have come out in support of Pearl Puri.
