Though ended up abruptly, the AMMA Executive meeting finally took place today. The meeting took place in a hotel, which is situated in a containment zone; due to which, the meeting had to be disbursed in the midway. However, before the hotel was sealed by the authorities, the meeting however took an important decision. The meeting heeded the calls of the Producers’ Association, when it decided to cut the remuneration of the artists by 50 percent.
However, Mamukkoya has come up criticizing the decision of AMMA. The veteran actor said that the decision from AMMA wasn’t justifiable considering the situation of normal artists in the industry. Mamukkoya said that he himself doesn’t charge exorbitant amount and had no practice of bargaining with the producers. The actor also opined that, the creamy layer was responsible for creating humungous remuneration figures, for which normal artists can’t be blamed. While reacting to the news, Mamukkoya also reminded that there should be a peaceful coexisting space for everyone in the industry.
