Social media app Wechat is one of the 59 Chinese apps that India first banned. China, which remained silent for a month after the ban, has now said it wants to rectify the mistake. Ji Rong, a spokesman for the Chinese embassy, said they had heard reports of a ban on the app. This eliminates the legal right and interest of Chinese companies to do business. A spokesman said a complaint had been lodged with the government seeking rectification of the mistake. It is a matter of constant reminder to Chinese companies that they must act only in accordance with international and local laws. The Government of India has a responsibility to protect the legal rights and interests of international companies. They include Chinese businesses. That is the principle of the market.

Practical cooperation between China and India is beneficial to both countries. Deliberate interference in it will not protect India’s interests. Rong said they are committed to taking steps to protect the legal rights of Chinese companies. It is doubtful whether WeChat is the only one of the banned apps to have officially complained to China about it.

How can people at home watch YouTube videos together?

Some people like to watch video alone. But others are interested in watching the video while talking to friends. If you are in the second group, here’s a chance. Those who want to watch and comment on the YouTube video can do so. All you have to do is use the Airtime app. Family and friends can watch the video together. Everyone will watch the video on their devices. You can also send responses, emojis and text messages while watching the video. The only problem is that you need to register your phone number to use it.

Those who want to try it out should download the Airtime app first. (Tell your friends to follow these steps too.) Then open the app and touch the ‘Get Started’ button. Then enter the phone number and verify the OTP entered. Once the verification is done, you can add friends by clicking on the ‘Create Room’ option. Then you can start streaming the video by clicking on YouTube.

Currently up to 5 people can watch video on airtime at a time like this. You can ask others to reach the app through regular video calls. To do so, open the room and touch the hand icon. Once people are together, tap on the popcorn icon and select the video you want to watch together. Then tap on the ‘Post to Room’ button and you will see together.

Masks are at the forefront of facial recognition technology

Each of us has a tendency to look closely to see if our neighbor is behind the mask. A report published by the National Institutes of Standards and Technology in the United States states that the same is true of computers. Their findings show that even the best facial recognition systems in place have a 50 percent accuracy in identifying the person who got the mask.
