The College of Engineering, Trivandrum was set up in 1939 because the first Engineering College in the then Travancore State. The first training have been started on 3rd July 1939 in the course of the reign of the Travancore King, Sri Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma and as the pinnacle of the then Travancore state he deserves his percentage of credit within the established order of the university.
