Malappuram Police has charged cases against Maneka Gandhi. It is for making communally disharmonizing comments that the police has charged cases against Sultanpur MP. Malappuram police has received a total of 6 cases against Maneka Gandhi; however, considering that all the cases carry similar charges, police has registered a single FIR. She has made some extremely derogatory remarks against Malappuram district, over the issue of the elephant being put to death by the use of a cracker.
Though the incident took place in Palakkad, Maneka Gandhi falsely accused Malappuram as the place. Subsequently, she has gone onto comment that Malappuram is one of the most dangerous districts in the country. However, statistics have showed that Sultanpur, the constituency of Maneka Gandhi fares quite poorly in comparison with Malappuram, which is ranked quite high.
