Satish Kuttiil is a producer who has given many classic movies in Malayalam. Now he is coming with an interesting story. He was the producer of the films Kaka and Poochkik Kalyanam and Kinnam Katta Kullan. The movie Kaka and Poochiek Kalyanam was a flop. After that, the screenwriter and director of that movie said that they will make the next movie for free. That’s how the movie Kinnam Katta Kullan was written. Srinivasan was the hero of this movie. He liked the story very much.
Srinivasan’s salary that day was one and a half lakh rupees. 25000 was paid as advance. The shooting started at Ottapalam. The day before the shoot, we entertained Sreeniyatan very well. He drank a lot of whiskey. It was much more than usual. The next day he was bedridden and unable to get up. The shooting was halted that day.
It bothered him a lot. But it doesn’t matter, the producer consoled me by asking if the shooting was delayed for a day. But it was a blessing from God. A few days later, Srinivasan asked to see the script and bring it. We were very happy with it. Because when someone like Srinivasan intervenes in the script, it is a big event. He had heard the story but had not read the entire script.
But scriptwriter VC Ashok did not like this incident. But we took the script to Srinivasan. Sriniyatan did it well. What was about 45 plus scenes was reduced to around 20. The total shooting time was 21 days. 29 lakhs and completed the film. Now the producer says that I am lucky that Srinivasan was in bed after drinking whiskey.
