The husband threw petrol on his wife and tried to set her on fire in the family court premises. Mansoor, a resident of Melatoor, tried to burn his wife Rubina’s body by pouring petrol on it. The accused was taken into police custody.

The incident took place on Tuesday around 2.30 pm. The couple came to the family court for divorce proceedings. Meanwhile, there was an argument between Mansoor and Rubina in the court premises regarding the rights of the children. With this, Rubina informed the police. But before the police reached the spot, Mansoor poured the petrol he had bought and kept on his wife’s body. Those present at the spot intervened and rescued the woman and arrested the accused. The accused was taken into custody and later taken to the police station. The police said that a case will be filed against him with charges including attempt to murder.

Last day, the woman was also attacked in Ottapalam family court premises in Palakkad. Subita, a native of Manassery, was raped by her ex-husband Ranjith in the court premises. Subita, who was seriously injured, was admitted to the Thrissur Medical College Hospital.
