Jos Buttler’s England finally takes away the title after defeating Pakistan in the T20 World Cup final match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. The English Cricket team will lift the trophy in their hands and will announce their white-ball dominance on the entire globe.
England becomes the first team to hold the ODI and T20 World Cup at the same time. Pakistan can be proud of the fight they showed. In the end, Afridi’s injury dashed their hopes.
England delivered a fantastic performance with the ball, reducing Pakistan to 137/8. Sam Curran (3/12) lead the English batting attack. Chasing 138, England was reduced to 45/3 before powerplay, but Stokes (52*) delivered in a big match once again to take his side to a victory.
England also became the first team in men’s cricket to hold the 50-over World Cup and the T20 World Cup titles simultaneously. Arguably the best white-ball side in world cricket, England became only the second team after West Indies to win two T20 World Cup titles.
