Four terrorists including LeT commander neutralised in South Kashmir

In a twin anti-terrorist operations, Jammu and Kashmir Police along with security forces on Tuesday neutralised four terrorists in South Kashmir’s Anantnag and Awantipora districts.
Police along with Army (3rd RR) launched a cordon and search operation at the Semthan Bijbhera area of Anantnag following input regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.

When the search party proceeded towards the suspected spot, the terrorist fired indiscriminately, but was retaliated effectively. In the ensuing encounter, one local terrorist identified as Shakir Ahmad was killed. As per police records, he was linked with the proscribed terror outfit HM.

Similarly, based on the tip-off of the presence of terrorists in the Khandipora area of Awantipora, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police and Army (55RR) in the said area.

In the encounter that ensued, three terrorists were killed by the security forces. Among the killed terrorists, one is a foreign terrorist and another one is a LeT commander identified as Mukhtar Bhat. As per police records, all the killed terrorists were involved in several terror crimes including the killing of 01 ASI of CRPF and 2 RPF personnel.

Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 01 AK-47 rifle, 01 AK-56 rifle and 01 pistol were recovered.
