The Customs Department has revealed the name of a Dubai based Malayaly businessman in connection with the case of smuggling gold through diplomatic baggage. The Dubai based businessman, Fazil is said to be the person, who has sent the baggage in the name of UAE Consulate. While dispatching, it was said that the baggage carried food items. However, more details are needed to get divulged, as how an outsider had managed to send baggage in the name of consulate.
The Customs department is right now undertaking an investigation on this Dubai based businessman. It is also said that the after received by Sarith, complete responsibility of transporting the gold that arrived at the airport, was vested on Swapna Suresh. Customs department is also investigating about the other parties involved in this act.
