RDX was a movie that got a good theater experience for the audience. After the movie was released on August 25 as Onam release, it was well received on OTT as well. RDX was also a Shane Nigam movie that was a hit in theaters for a while. There were many controversies since the pre-production time of the film. Therefore, people went to the theaters without much hope. Yes, one of the most heart-wrenching scenes in the film was the scene where the villains break the necklace of Pepe’s character Donnie’s baby. It is possible to watch that scene only by holding your breath for a moment. Basil says that when he saw that scene in the theater, his inner psycho dad woke up and wanted to beat the villains to death.
Basil also said that the beating given to the villain who broke the baby’s necklace seemed to have lessened. In an interview with Film Companion South, Basil opened up about his feelings as an audience member after watching RDX. ‘When Donnie later went and beat up the villain who broke the baby’s necklace in RDX, I felt it lessened.’While watching that scene, my inner father woke up as an audience member. I felt like grabbing that villain, rubbing him on the road, kicking him and hanging him. Turned into a psycho dad for a moment. But Antony’s Donnie beat the villain a bit and let him go’, says Basil.
Another thing, when Basil’s video went viral, the audience also came in favor. The movie watchers also commented that the punishment given to the villain who abused the child was reduced. Others noted that Basil thought of himself as a father and a director at the same time.
