Indian men’s hockey team won the bronze medal in the Hero Asia Cup 2022 after a 1-0 win over Japan at the GBK Sports Complex Hockey Stadium, Japan, on Wednesday.
Raj Kumar Pal slotted home from the brilliant play involving Maninder Singh and Uttam Singh in the 6th minute.
India captain Birendra Lakra wins the player of the match award for his sturdy defensive work.

The defending champions failed to enter the final of the tournament after a thrilling 4-4 draw with Korea. India did not get into the finals owing to a poor goal difference in the Super 4s pool table.
Japan were slow on the day and enjoyed long spells of possession but failed to penetrate through the defence.
