The Board of Control for Cricket in India has confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah has sustained a back injury and has been ruled out of the South Africa series. Bumrah, who last played for India on July 14, 2022, against England was expected to regain his full form and fitness just before the World Cup, but as of now, the possibility of his participation in the World Cup looks very doubtful.
Rohit Sharma-led team India has now included speedster Mohd. Siraj in the squad.

It was pretty unlikely for India to include Siraj in their white ball plans, but Ravindra Jadeja being ruled out and now an injury scare to Jasprit Bumrah has forced the Indian team to include an express seamer in their pace battery.
