IPL Chairman, Brijesh Patel has announced that this year’s Indian Premier League would kick off from September 19th onwards. Maintaining that it would be a full-fledged tournament, Brijesh Patel stated that the final of the 2020 edition of the tournament would take place on November 8th. While addressing the media, the IPL Chairman informed that UAE would host this year’s IPL.
That said, BCCI sources suggest that the teams would have to leave the base by August 20th. It was after ICC decided to push the T20 World Cup, which was scheduled to take place in Australia this November, owing to the Covid Pandemic, which the 51 day window for IPL has come alive. Meanwhile, the IPL Governing Council is holding a meeting next week and would come up with the exact schedule of IPL 2020.
