Kannur: Katana attacked a Maoist group in Kannur. Others passed by leaving the injured gang member behind. Suresh, a native of Chikkamangalur, Karnataka, was injured in the violence of Katana.

Maoist Suresh was attacked by a katana while traveling through the forest on the Karnataka border. The Maoist group reached Kanjirakoli with Suresh who was injured in the katana attack today around 6.30 pm.

The Maoist group reached Krishnan's house. The group reached here through the reserve forests of Karnataka. But after leaving Suresh at Chitari Colony, the six-member Maoist group bought rice and supplies and left.

Suresh, who looks to be around 50 years of age, has sustained serious injuries on his leg and hand in the attack. Locals found Suresh injured and people's representatives reached the spot and took him to the hospital.

Suresh was found injured and shifted to Pariyaram Medical College. Suresh is a native of Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka. He has admitted to the police that he is a Maoist activist.
