It was the trailer launch ceremony of the anthology film based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s stories. The anthology series is titled Manorathaman. Asif Ali is acting in a short film in this.
Neelthamara is one of the best Malayalam classic movies of all time. A few years ago, Lal Jose had remade this movie. Archana Kavi and Kailash played the central characters in the movie. Its songs are a hit among the audience even today. Meanwhile, Asif Ali was one of the first people to audition for this film. But now Asif Ali is clarifying why he didn’t get a chance in this film.
“For the first time I am coming in front of MT sir to participate in the audition of the movie Neelthamara. Lal Jose sir was telling me to come and see him. I was withdrawing from it saying that there was no Malayali look to meet me that day. Now after 13 years of waiting, one of his characters can be done. I am certainly very happy about that. I have acted in a film directed by Sir’s daughter Aswathi Ma’am herself. Along with happiness, I feel a lot of pride” – added Asif Ali.
